Is Hiring a Photobooth Worth it? (An honest take)

2. The Golden Rule: Location, location, location!!!

1. It Kicks Off the Party (The "What Now?" Moment)

Let’s be real—planning a wedding is expensive. The average wedding in Scotland now costs between £15,000 and £25,000. Between the venue, the dress, the flowers, and feeding 100 guests, you are probably looking at your spreadsheet and wondering:

"Do we really need a photobooth? Or is it just another expense?"

Obviously, as a photobooth supplier, we are biased! But here is the reality we see at hundreds of weddings across Glasgow, Lanarkshire, and Edinburgh: The photobooth is usually one of the smallest costs on your spreadsheet, but it creates the biggest memories.

For a fraction of your total budget (literally about 1-2%), you get entertainment for the whole night and a keepsake for every single guest.

Here is our honest take on why a booth is more than just a "nice-to-have."

2. The Golden Rule: Location, location, location!!!

1. It Kicks Off the Party (The "What Now?" Moment)

There is a specific moment at every wedding: the meal is done, the first dances are finished, and the formal part of the day is over.

This is the "Gap." The evening guests have arrived, but people are still standing around wondering what to do next.

  • Without a booth: Guests tend to drift to the bar or sit on their phones.

  • With a booth: It creates an instant atmosphere. As soon as people see Granny putting on a viking helmet, the laughter starts. It signals to everyone that the party has officially begun.

If you do book a booth, here is our #1 piece of advice: Do not let the venue hide us away.

Sometimes venues will suggest putting the booth in a corridor or a side room. Don't do it.

  • Visible = Used: When guests see other people laughing and taking photos, they want to join in. It creates a buzz in the room.

  • Hidden = Forgotten: If the booth is tucked away in a separate room, people won't leave the main party to find it. You want the booth to be part of the action.

2. The Golden Rule: Location, location, location!!!

Let's face it—we live in Scotland. Whether you are getting married at Cornhill Castle or in Glasgow City Centre, you can't guarantee the weather.

If it rains (which it probably will), your guests can't hang around outside. A photobooth provides guaranteed indoor entertainment. It gives your guests something fun to do inside the venue, keeping the energy high even if it's pouring down outside.

5. The "Guestbook" Factor

Which Booth is Right for You?

We handle the guestbook for you, and honestly, it’s 10x better than a standard book.

  • Standard Book: Guests sign their name. "Best wishes, Dave." Boring.

  • Photo Guestbook: We stick their print in the book, and they write a message next to their silly face. You wake up the next morning with a book full of hilarious photos and heartfelt (or slightly tipsy) messages. It’s the best souvenir you will have from the night.
